Are MGM DVDs Screwing Film Geeks? BASTARDS!

A lawsuit has surfaced suggesting that a certain number of MGM DVDs advertised as being presented in widescreen actually weren't.  The suit suggests MGM took pan-and-scan versions of the flicks and placed bars over the top and bottom of the screen. The Academy doesn't always get it (talented mutherf@*ker Paul Giamatti was left out this year, as was loud-mouth genuis Michael Moore).  But then again, the Academy does get it sometimes (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Before Sunrise, Don Cheadle, Brad Bird). The script sneaks over at Latinoreview.com have posted a first look at Michael Mann's (dir. of Collateral, Heat, The Insider) film version of the eighties TV show he created, Miami Vice.  The film stars Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell.
