Quote of the day:
"There is a large element of me in every role I do. Actors who say they can dive inside a character are either schizophrenic or lying." -- Bruce Campbell |

The Fonz Aint No Good For An Emmy
By Acheron on July 25, 2000 7:50 AM
(FoxNews)Winkler was first up for an emmy for his guest appearance in the comedy, Battery Park, but that bid was denied because the episode didn't air within the Emmy eligiblity period. On the brighter side, he may be nominated for his more serious, drama guest appearance in The Practice. Winkler is apparently appreciative of both nominations, even though one won't count. Battery Park was a sitcom that was pulled out of the NBC lineup because of low ratings. Winkler's episode was set to air in April, which was inside the Emmy eligiblity date of May 31st. It ended up airing sometime in June.
In place of Winkler's bid, William H. Macy will receive the bid for best guest drama appearance for his work in Sports Night on ABC.
Technicalities suck. Too bad for Winkler, but at least he's got a second chance. He'd be going up against some pretty tough contenders, who among them are Bruce Willis and Tom Selleck. He'll probably have a better shot at his bid for his appearance inThe Practice. You can catch the Emmys on September 10th.
