Election Wins Indie Award

(Nando) The Spirit Awards voted "Election," a political satire set in a Nebraska high school, as the best feature film. The Spirit Awards, hiding in the shadows of the Oscars, covers independant films. Other awards were given to "Blair Witch Project" (even though it was righteous crap) for the best first feature made for under $500,000 and "Being John Malkovich" was chosen as the best first feature made for more than $500,000.
