Quote of the day:
"There is a large element of me in every role I do. Actors who say they can dive inside a character are either schizophrenic or lying." -- Bruce Campbell |

The Matrix and Movie Trailer Awards
By Jack on February 7, 2000 3:34 PM
(Variety)-You know it's kudos season when even the trailers for movies are being honored. Last Tuesday night, entertainment Web Hollywood.com held its second annual Trailer Awards ceremony at the Writers' Guild Theater in Beverly Hills. Host Antonio Sabato Jr. handed out the coveted Golden Hitch trophies honoring the best theatrical trailers for films released in 1999. "The Matrix" swept the evening, winning four out of the eight categories: best action; best use of music; best teaser, tied with "The Blair Witch Project"; and best overall. Other winners included "Austin Powers : The Spy Who Shagged Me" (funniest), "Notting Hill" (most romantic) and "The Sixth Sense" (most stylish). In the steamiest category, the big winner was "Eyes Wide Shut." Wouldn’t Stanley Kubrick be proud? The awards were given to each film’s respective studio and the trailer’s production company. The winners were selected online by users of the Hollywood.com site.
