The rise of Digital Filmmakers

Every camcorder-toting film hobbyist out there has probably dreamed of producing movies in the big screen business. As time goes by, most of them actually do get in the business. Judging by the volume of entries to Resfest, the annual digital film festival in San Francisco, experimental filmmaking is flourishing, largely a result of the more sophisticated recording and editing tools available to the general public. Films such as The Blair Witch Project shows that amateur filmmakers on a shoestring budget can actually rake in Hollywood class income.
