 Jet Li Fights Himself in The One

(SCI FI Wire) Jet Li, star of James Wong's upcoming SF thriller movie The One, told SCI FI Wire that the movie required him to fight a formidable opponent: himself. The film tells the story of a man traveling through alternate realities, killing the other versions of himself to absorb their power. Li plays both the evil entity and an alternate version who must stop him.
In an interview, Li said he shot each side of the fights against a stunt double. Computer technology will blend the two sides and erase the double. "The One has a lot of computer help, a special way to shoot it, because I fight myself," Li said. "It's quite different. I become good guy first, then I become bad guy second, and then I become good guy again to make it work." Sony will release The One in the fall.

Jet Li imovies are so good, you dont go to a martial arts movie for the story you go for the action and the talent of the actors, so if you dont like martial arts movies, dont go see the movie for a good plot.

I guess your speaking on behalf of Mr. Li. All movies should have plots. Even the lamest of them all Van Dam ( Jean not Rob ) has a plot, as bad as it might be. "Romeo must Die" has been rated on the 10 worst movies of all time by the country of China, thats a Billion people Random Shemp. By the way, check out Rob Van Dam in "The Black Mask 2" coming out soon.

China placing "Romeo" on the ten worst is a stupid yard stick to messure a movie by. they are just a bunch of whiny babies because their best actors, Li, Chan, Yeow, and Chow left Hong Kong when England gave it back to China.

1. Actually, it was the UK and not England that 'handed' Hong Kong back to the Chinese.
2. Insulting the Chinese by calling them "whiny babies" in reaction to their low rating of RMD is more than a little petulant, don't you think?
RMD was a good film with great action scenes

1) i am not going to argue the UK/England simantics because everyone knows that it's the English crown OVER the "UK" and that the UNITED Kingdom isn't United anyway.
2) i didn't call them whiney babies because they rated Romeo Must die low, i called them whiney babies because they lost their best actors (please feel free to read my original comment again)
russia was the same way when barishnikov (spelling anyone?) came to america.
now i will betold it wasn't russia, but the soviet union, right?

That is a good point 100%, nice use of statistics. Unfortunately there is a cultural bias, the Chinese are a little behind the US when it comes to interracial relations (especially with African Americans). Since Li's main love interest is a black woman, I think it may have angered some Chinese (I don't know if you remember when the US women beat China on penaly kicks during the World Cup, the Chinese were calling our African American goalie a trained ape)

You sound like f*ckin children the way you argue. Raiders of the Lost Ark is an excellent film. So are the majority of Jet Li's. American's are NOT all hillbillies (some are). That's sheer ignorance. Oh and I'm Canadian by the way.

I agree, remember, in the lessons of martial arts it is not about just being ale to defend your self. It is also being at peace with one another. American movies can be good sometimes and Jet Li is a great fighter and lights the screen on fire when he is using his skills. So why don't you two agree to disagree and leave the whole subject alone

jet li is a great action star, kiss of the dragon, black mask, the enforcer, romeo must die, once upon a time in china 1-4, fist of legend......the list goes on, all enjoyable movies. Raiders of the lost Ark is a great movie as well, as well as totally different. I think the matrix was better than "the english patient" but you cannot really compare them because they are not the same type of movie at all.....if you guys grew up a little you would realize that "i'm right" "you're wrong" are infantile arguments. especially when describing what amounts to a matter of personal taste!!
