Topic: Film Final Fantasy Movie Screen Shots
By Azad on May 15, 2001 3:04 PM

For all the Final Fantasy fans out there who are just dying to catch more of a glimpse of the upcoming Final Fantasy movie, the folks over at the Polykarbon web site have scored quite a few impressive images. The CG work definitely looks mighty impressive, stunningly beautiful! Allow me a moment to drool first... and check out the screen shots!

The Final Fantasy movie is based on the acclaimed Square videogame series, and the story centers on the heroine Ross. Dr. Ross is a scientist in the year 2065 who is bedeviled by dreams and must figure out a way to thwart an alien threat to Earth.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within opens on July 11.

I think quite a lot of people care. This movie is going to rock! I love the game and with the sweet CG work and the awesome story lines that are always with anything by the name of Final Fantasy, then this movie is going to be the best movie of the summer.

That is the only explanation.  You don't like to use your mind on movies (I bet you liked Tomb Raider), so you diss it.

I myself like the movie itself. I think the reason that the movie do not appeal to some people is that they are not exposed to the director's type of storytelling. If you have ever played the previous ff games, you must have realized all of them try to hide some sort of deep meaning. You could say it is predictable but such stories are not usual. In short, I must say that people who like the story must have appreciate the story

The final fantasy movie is a really great movie. I hate these rather low ratings they give this movie. If they give Jurassic Park III a higher score, I will be furious! I can basically predict what will happen in that movie. The story in Final Fantasy is cool, and if the people didn't get some of it, they most likely weren't paying attention to it.

Evaluation:
Graphics and effects are quite good. Story held up well initially but TOTALLY went LAME in the final 5 minutes!
No catharsis, no logical conclusion, all initial spirituality lost!  BUMMER!!!!!!

I agree wholeheartedly.  People are just so critical of Final Fantasy because of it's groundbreaking visuals and totally disregard the CGI effort. Deeper and redundant analyzing by criticsand opposition are destroying the ratings. Compare it to any other movie in the past 4 years( When production started) and you will have a very difficult time finding a semi-equal movie

Then why are you even here??

the truth is, this movie ROCKS and is a benchmark for all animation. Even though you lose the reality that you are actually watch a high-tech cartoon about 10mins into the show.

so the story may not be to some ppl's liking but to compare the story with tomb raider?? come on??!!?? i only watch tomb raider for the pair of bonkers.

even if you dun play the game, dun like(or understand) the story, the least you can do is try and appreciate how much effort has been put it to produce this show. 4 years has been spend and over 150 computer animation artist from around the world rope in to make this movie possible.

this movie is the best for this year and that's the undisputed truth. you know it, why dun you just say it!!!

FF starts out good and then just goes down, down, down from there. Just like the ratings.
Very, very disappointed.
They really could have developed a wonderful story line but blew it, big time.

Well, I'd like to say I am amazed with the graphics. I wonder, how they did this. Do they model charecters from real? The story is exciting and the final is really bad but I don't care. I wasn't expecting a suprise end.

What is the film like. I live in Australia. So it is not out yet. I herd it is like ALIENS AND THE SIXTH SENCE. Is it?
Anyway back here in Australia it is very very popular.

I get to see the Premire!
I hope it is worth it.

I just watched it tonight! =) Sweet graphics. I've been a major FF fan. Although I was kinda confused with the story plot and how the eight spirits neutralized the aliens' spirits. ^^;; It did kinda reminded me of Aliens and Sixth Sense too!

The plot is OK. The implementation, (and this is important!) is half-American, half-Japanese. As usual, empty American brain expects candy; it receives it, but Japanese part makes it hard candy. Guys! Don't get drowned in Tomb Raider honey! Enjoy FF!
