Quote of the day:

"There is a large element of me in every role I do. Actors who say they can dive inside a character are either schizophrenic or lying." -- Bruce Campbell

Topic: Film Godzilla Returns Again
By Azad on March 9, 2001 11:42 AM

According to a report on Fandom's Monster Zero Web site, Toho officially announced the next Godzilla film, which will be titled Godzilla-Mothra-King Ghidorah : Daikaiju Sogougeki (which very roughly means "Giant Monster Great Battle"). This will be the third film in Toho's new Godzilla series of films. Production will begin in May, with an eye to a Dec. 15 release in Japan.

The film, which will be directed by Shusuke Kaneko (the Gamera trilogy) with a script he wrote with Keiichi Hasegawa and Masahiro Yokoya, will tell a story set in the near future 2004, 50 years after Godzilla's first appearance.

This new film will tell the story of a Japan that has been protected over the years by three giant monsters going under the name of Yamato Seishu, or designated as holy creatures. They defend the island nation against all comers, including, eventually, the ultimate enemy: Godzilla. Forgetting the horror of Godzilla, the people are flushed with overconfidence, which is brought to the test when the king of the monsters returns.

Regarding his goals with the film, Kaneko is quoted as saying, "I have been fascinated by kaiju from my childhood and it seems that my dream comes true. Ten years ago I told Mr. Tomiyama if I could direct a Godzilla film but it did not result in fruition. Though I already made three Gamera films, I still did not consider my dream to have really come true without directing a Godzilla film. So I have written the screenplay from last year, and now I am drawing continuity with my personal computer. The direction will be very realistic, but I hope this movie will also be a family fare with a lot of inspiration and dream. The characteristic element of Godzilla is that though he is destructive and a bad guy, but somehow he could be understandable in what he does. Also he has the image of all kinds of warfare with him. I am making the film with the feeling 'This IS the (ultimate) kaiju film.'"

oooooh....how politically correct of you. I realize this is the "New Age" of enlightenment but that guy (oops, person) is as much entitled to his or her opinions as you are. Like it or not, the same idealogical tenents that guarantee you freedom of expression, guarantee that person the same thing. You do not have to like it but you better learn to live with it.

Keep sitting on the fence peckerhead. If you step down on his side your shoe will have sh*t all over it. Don't be too pleased with yourself, he might not like the way you look either.

I am not sitting on the fence dufus, what are you sitting on Hmmmm? The whole point here (besides your head) is that everyone has a right to opinions, and they are not all going to please you. Boo Hoo....tragic aint it? The sad fact of life is that we all have opinions and mush like buttholes, they all stink if they belong to someone other than you! Get with it man, people have opinions that differ from yours. And, Mr Politically Correct, there is NOTHING, repeat...NADA! that you can do about it.

Besides, you are making racist remarks using the word redneck, pinhead. Or is it in your learned (heh) opinion that only non-caucasians can be the target of racism?

Do you think that Manute Bole might make a cameo and "Stuff" Godzilla as he tries to slamdunk a truck into a valcano?

Come on people - surely there's no-one out there who wants to see some jerk-off running around in a rubber suit stomping on model cities and power stations. This crap was popular in the 60s but this is 2001. Let's have a new analogy for Anglo/Japanese tension.

Don't justify yourself  thinking you're just being politically incorrect.  You might be entitled to your racist views but my foot is also entitled to knock your teeth in.
