Topic: Film Still Scenes from Episode II
By Azad on December 9, 2000 9:52 PM

Rick McCallum, producer or Star Wars: Episode II has unveiled new stills from the upcoming prequel at the InterBEE 2000 Conference in Chiba City, Japan, according to news bits from the official Star Wars Web site. The images were shown to demonstrate the digital Sony cameras used to make the movie. Check out the stills here.

"I wanted to meet with Sony and show stills of the film from hi-def," said McCallum. "They've never actually seen anything filmed. I wanted to make sure that those who have spent the last five years developing this camera actually understand how much we appreciated it and what a huge success it was for us."

Among the displayed images gathered by the Sony Panavision 24-fps digital camera was this striking silhouette http://www.starwars.com/episode-ii/select/2000/46/ . The results -- and reactions -- were spectacular.
"In some cases, there were tears," says McCallum. "These guys don't often get feedback from the filmmaker. It's been a long road, and it's been a five-year relationship. We're separate companies - even competing companies, yet we did this without a single document signed. No agreements. No lawyers involved. It was a very emotional four days."

"Just thought I'd cut and paste that chunk from the article from the site ... thought it was pretty interesting, if you guys aren't worried about spoilers you should check out the 'episode II select' section of http://www.starwars.com ... there's a fucked up one of Boba Fett prancing around with a parasol..."

Word is that Boba Fett gets unmasked, revealing none other than Patrick Ewing himself.

Yeah, I heard that Patrick Ewing plays Lando's half monkey father. Apparently Lando has monkey in his blood. Who knew? Maybe that is why he had such good moves at the battle of Tanab.

Then I guess Ewing's a shoe in for that new "Planet of the Apes". That or maybe "The Son of Kong".

I heard that in Star Wars 2 Mark Hammel makes a comeback. He is in a scene where Yoda is getting a hummer from Patrick and he is sitting in a tree playing with his bits while watching. Interesting, but I though Mark Hammel was still in jail for buggery?
