Topic: Film Planet of the Apes cast gets Warner
By Azad on November 29, 2000 9:52 PM

David Warner is on the cast list to play a liberal member of the ape senate and the father of Helena Bonham Carter's character in Tim Burton's upcoming Planet of the Apes movie, based on a report from Variety columnist Army Archerd.

Warner's character will sympathize with the plight of humans, who will be chiefly played by Mark Wahlberg and Estella Warren. And yes, she's hot.

Tim Roth and Michael Clarke Duncan will play Warner's ape senate opposition, who consider that the human beings are animals. And mighty high praises to Rick Baker, the make-up artist who transforms actors into apes. Warner has to report in at 3 in the morning to have the make-up applied, but despite the ridiculously early morning hours, the fantastic work has been marvelously praised by the cast.

Yeah, I saw that movie years ago. It had another big star in it, Michael Ironside.

If they are so worried about starting makeup at 3am, whey didn't they cast Patrick Ewing as the lead. That knuckle dragger could have played the part with no makeup.

How about "George the Animal Steel?"

Mark Wahlberg and George Clooney?   > reply

This movie is already dead if they are the main human leads (check it out on IMDB.com). The best two leads would have been Nicholas Cage and Gena Gershon as Nova. Wahlberg may have his place in Hollywood but in no way can he replace Charlton Heston. Not that I am dissing a fellow Boston native, but come on, think about it!
