Aunt Beru Dies
By Acheron on September 15, 2000 3:15 PM
(Yahoo!) Shelagh Fraser, who secured screen immortality as Luke Skywalker's Aunt Beru in Star Wars, has died after a long illness, according to Lucasfilm's Star Wars website. She was 87.
A short message posted this week on the site says only that the British-born actress died "recently," however, according to postings on alt.fan.starwars, she passed away Tuesday. No further details were immediately available.
Her death comes a month after the passing of another Star Wars fixture (and Luke Skywalker surrogate parent) Sir Alec Guinness, aka Obi-Wan Kenobi.
- You can read the rest of this article at Yahoo!'s site. I just wanted to post this here so that those that read this site are aware of it.
