 Tobey Maguire Is Spiderman

(Yahoo) Everyone second guessing each other in who will land the role of the webslinger. Finally, Columbia Pictures finally released a statement saying that Tobey Maguire will star in the role. This has had many surprised because most people don't picture him as having the "buff" physique that was required for the role. American Beauty player, Wes Bentley, was also a finalist, and believed to be the more viable option because of his build, but Maguire showed up bigger than expected, and apparently looked perfect in the suit. Guess he'd been working hard to get the role.
Maguire has starred in The Ice Storm, Pleasantville, and Wonderboys.
Well after nearly six years in the works, it seems that they're finally moving forward with this, and might pull something decent off. My only beef is that they didn't get someone a bit older, but I didn't follow the comic that closely, and Peter Parker could have very well meant to be that young. |

dear who ever sent the comment about him being a sissy wussy boy.well he's not ok! i bet he's fitter than you. quess what even if he was a sissy or a girl he'd still be a milionaire so he could get face lifts and have a personal trainer to buff him up.dont diss toby maguire.all right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peter Parker was a college student when he was bitten by the radioactive spider that gave him his super powers, so I guess they did ok choosing somebody young for the role.

Actually that is wrong. Peter Parker was a High School student when he became Spiderman.

Well, I guess the director must have SOME reason to pick Tobey for the part...I totally put my trust in his hand...and with the suit on, he just have to have the body to wear it.
BUT...organic webshooters...I don't know.

The director had EVERY reason to pick Tobey Maguire for the part of Spiderman! He totally rox! I think that any 1 who thinks that some 1 else should have gotten the part needs a serious lesson in good taste!
I reckon that Tobey is the all time best actor, and pickng him for Spiderman was the best choice the director made in the whole movie!
