Bana Not HULK, Diesel Not SILVER SURFER!

Yep. Eric Bana (Hulk, Munich) is not going to continue on as David Banner in Marvel's "re-imagining" of the franchise that failed to become a franchise. The "Incredible Hulk" is in the casting stage, will shoot this year or next, and will restart, not continue from where the first Ang Lee directed, artistic trainwreck "Hulk" left off. In other superhero news, the Vin Diesel-Silver Surfer-Fantastic Four rumor is bogus. Unskilled, limp director Tim Story (dir. FF, Taxi, Barber Shop) confirmed this.

The first reports have "Superman Returns" earning $52 million over its opening weekend (and $82m over the course of five days). It's a solid opening and means well for the renewed franchise. Some will say it underwhelmed and should have destroyed all previous records, but Spider-man 2's insane $43m a day average is a hard record to beat. "The Devil Wears Prada" opening strongly.
