PS3 blinking red light: what went wrong?
Having Playstation 3 Red Light on your game console can really ruin one's day. What used to be a normal green light has been replaced by red ones, and the ps3 blinks like it is in critical condition.
When you see your PS3 blinking, it is most probably a hardware issue. This is certainly true if your can't anymore play your games the moment you start seeing blinking red light on PS3.
In order to fix PS3 blinking problem, you have to determine which specific hardware
Remove the hard drive from your Playstation 3 and turn it on again. See if you are able to see the dashboard. If you can't, then the problem lies within the main board itself, and you may need to deal with other problems like overheating.
On the other hand, if you are able to reach the dashboard, then the cause of the PS3 blink problem is that hard drive. Try reconnecting the hard drive back to the PS3 console, then turn it on. This will reset the hard drive, and hopefully things would get back to normal. If replugging it still results in PS3 blinking red light, then you have to look for a replacement hard drive for your game console.
