Topic: Film ROCKY VI Begins Production!
By Charley on October 12, 2005 1:29 PM

Production Weekly is reporting that "Rocky VI" is set to begin filming this December in Los Angeles, despite the trouble the project has faced while being developed. Sylvester Stallone will reprise his role as the scrappy boxer, with one crucial difference: he's old.

Stallone also wrote the script and will direct the upcoming sequel.

Update, including the new working title and a plot synopsis!

Can this movie really work?

This will NOT work if Stallone writes &/or directs this movie.  Stallone is ONLY good in front of the camera when he's either wearing boxing gloves or carrying a gun.

Is that a sick joke? Stallone wrote the first one, which many would consider to be the best.

There were 6 Star Wars....so what's the big deal?   > reply

I, for one, am very pumped about the final chapter of the Rocky series.  I was five years old when the first movie was made.  Now, I am going to take my 8 year old to see the final one.
I wish the movie industry would connect the generations more often.  The Star Wars saga connected my son and I and now Sly will do it again.
I hate to say it, but I really do think Rocky will die in this one.  No Adrian, no son at home, Paulie gets married.....bring the tissues!
Seriously, this nation needs more pure hero characters - instead of "The Rock" shooting everyone up in Doom.
Way to go Sly!
P.S. Rambo IV will soon follow.

Each Rocky movie is a phase in Rocky's life and Rocky V was not the end.  Rocky VI will do the same.  No matter what the story turns out to be, it CAN'T be bad.

He wrote/produced and directed all of the movies.

Although I wasn't impressed with V, I'll check this one out just for the "coming out of retirement" montage.

Any news about returning cast members, i.e. Talia Shire and Burt Young?

Rocky V, should have won the Oscar it was brilliant. Stallone, Tommy Morrison, and the other geniuses in that film have all gone onto countless other movies and owe it all to Rocky V. Stallone does not have brain damage, he is an intelligent person with great taste. Rocky V was so much better than Cinderlla Man because it was REAL, and Stallone is Rocky, and his son is that homo, and Pauly is fat, and the Robot is real, and Talia Shire can do better, and Stallone is not retarded, and Rocky IV will kick ass at the box office as long as Rockys clothes stay on, cause no one wants to see an old man naked, and Stallone is smarter than a six year old Brit.

ROCKY VI (not Rocky Balboa)   > reply

I think Sly should stick to the roman numerals, NOT this "Rocky Balboa" title!

There is this young writer, who will pretty soon take the world by storm (via "Disney"), who's willing to write the next sequel (part 6), but no one seems to be taking him serious.  I wonder why?

I understand, this is a Stallone creation, but do we really want to see Rocky still in the slums???

Rocky Balboa was greatly admired because he became this magnificent hero by overcoming great hardships!

I can still remember Rocky facing off DRAGO (in part 4) -- I actually thought he was going to "die"!

I loved the movie so much, I stayed in my seat and watched it again w/my friend.

What can I say -- Sly was a hit in the '80's -- who could forget:

COBRA

OVER THE TOP

LOCK UP

and the rest of the ROCKY & RAMBO Series...

Yo bro, the guy was amazing!!

I wish Sly would go back to playing the character like he did in PARTS II-IV, 'cause that's where he shined the most!

ROCKY (VI) can shine AGAIN, but let's get a great story going!!

That's my two cents...
