 New Batmobile Got Hops

Pictures of the new Batmobile were featured in the New York Daily News and one of the producers let fans in on a little Batmobile gossip. Producer Charles Roven (Scooby-Doo, Twelve Monkeys) told reporters that the new Batmobile actually works and can jump 40 feet when they get it up to 220 miles per hour. He went on to say that they would be filming the scene where the car jumps later.
Drooling geeks all over the internet are calling that bit of news a spoiler, but it seems like we have seen other Batmobiles do some pretty impressive things, with jumping ranking low on that list.
While this type of "spoiler" might impress my four-year-old cousin ("Want to see how high I can jump?"), it is not that exciting that the new Batmobile can jump, even if it is 40 whole feet and even if it can do so without the help of special effects.
Plus it looks like the Marines' armored transport from Aliens.

it doesn't look like a nice vehicle let alone a freakin' batmobile! it looks like it's going to fall apart when i sit in it. shouldn't it look more like a sports car than a cheezy tank?

Those rear knobby tires sure don't look like they're fit for racing. Maybe it's the 4x4 version.

I can't wait for the bit in the movie when Batman tries to jump the gorge on the asteroid by turning off the boosters at the right moment and the Russian guy has to climb outside and fix it when they don't come back on. Man, that shit's gonna be da bomb!

Surely the B-Mobile is a mobile communications centre and emergency backup system - Since when did `The Bat` need such overt toys to win his fight against crime??
I think it looks prety functional as these things go and beats the last 2 hands down for sheer rugedness - (does anyone recall the wobbly fins on other models)..

Has anyone played Halo, or Halo 2 on Xbox? Look it up, and look for pictures of the warthog in the game. This new Batmobile looks much closer to a warthog than a batmobile. youll never be able to beat the Bmobile from Batman 1
