Lions Gate greenlights American Psycho 2
By Jack on April 13, 2001 5:12 PM
Empire Online reports that Lions Gate Films has given the go ahead for a sequel to the much talked about thriller last year, "American Psycho".
Rather than having Christian Bale reprise his role as Patrick Bateman, the sequel will feature a new character, played by Mila Kunis (That would be Jackie from "That 70's Show.") Kunis will play a college co-ed who was once involved with Bateman. After forming an obsession over a teaching assistant, she will do whatever it takes to have him.
Production is set to begin in Toronto in the middle of May, and will have a budget of around $10 million. There is no guarantee that the film will receive a theatrical release, although one is expected.

I'm thinking that if this film never happens, that 10 million dollars would be better spent.

I don't know. America Psycho is one of those movies that stick around in your head for a while, whether or not you liked it. A sequel is probably not a good idea.

I agree,a sequel to this movie is just not necessary. It was a great movie, and the book even better! But a sequel will just ruin it! why dont they do a movie on another book by Brett ellis?

Honestly, I didn't like the movie. I mean, it had it's moments, such as the Huey Lewis scene. That was great. But all in all, it just wasn't as good as I'd hoped for. Not even close actually.
A sequel is definitely not in order here.

I worked in Post-production on this film. It is worth a see, but it's not at all like the original. It stands pretty well on it's own though.
(sorry no boobies)

What the hell?
Why the f*ck?
American Psycho was based on a famous novel by Brett Easton Ellis. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he never wrote a sequel. This sounds like another shameless hollywood dead horse flogging for some quick bucks, (which probably won't eventuate). I sincerely hope they don't make this sure turkey.
