try watching @ 2times the speed. It'll be half as long and you will be half as bored/sick.
It was too long, too slow.

obviously you're not intelligent enough to get it.  Its not that hard a film to understand.  I guess it didnt have enough killing or dumb-ass actors like Keanu Reeves in it for you.

That is the standard response when a movie suck, you're not intelligent enough to get it.

Guess what dumb ass? The Emperor is Naked!  The jokes on you!  That movie was long winded tripe that could have been edited down to 15 minutes!

Now go take an IQ test and if you score higher than your belt size I'll give you a banana, you f*cking troglodyte.

Maybe 15 minutes is about all your tiny brain can absorb in one sitting.  Stick to watching the Paulie Shore movies dipsh*t, Im sure theyre more to your liking and easier for someone like you to critique.

I'm willing to watch a 3 hour movie with a plot and interesting characters.

An endless movie with a juvenile and tiresome plot...ooh HAL went crazy! Is worthless tripe.

You just say you like the movie because some other fop told you it was cinema.

It was boring, the only redeeming quality was the music.

Actually no one told me anything about this film, and it wasnt until my third viewing of the film that I took a decent liking of it.  I rarely take critic's advice on film choices because they as frequently wrong as they are right, and everyone has their own opinion on a film's content.  Who cares about the film's message anyway?  Its still as interesting as it was 30+ years ago, and 10 times better than 70% of the bullsh** thats produced today.
I do agree with you on the music though.

I'll give it another shot. But if it sucks the 2nd time around I'll curse you whoever you are.

There's so much more than HAL going crazy.I highly recommend the books- all four.

I agree about the books. The film IS a wonderful piece of art, but the books fill out many more details than the film does, and are a must-read. Arthut C. Clarke is simply a genius.

Unfortunately, most people are too busy or lazy (take your pick & you all know who you are!!!!) to sit thru the time it takes to read a book these days. I read them and enjoyed them immensly. I also enjoyed the move but thought the plot was open to some interpretation at the time. At any rate, a top notch movie and the following  one I enjoyed as well. If you like the books, try the Rama series. Best regards!
