SODERBERGH To Help Reinvent Film Distribution?

Steven Soderbergh has inked a deal with Mark Cuban and Todd Wagner's Co. 2929 Entertainment. The deal calls for six, high def video films from Soderbergh (produced and/or directed) that will be released on DVD, in theatres, and on the HDNet cable channel at the same time. Cuban and Wagner's company shares ownership of Landmark theatres and the HDNet cable channel.

SEINFELD's Animated Bee Movie Gets Cast!

Variety reports the Dreamworks animated flick that Jerry Seinfeld co-wrote (tentively titled, the Bee Movie), has attracted a solid cast and will be released in 2007. The story centers on a Bee (Seinfeld) who decides to sue mankind for stealing all the honey. Zing!

Kevin Smith Gives Lucas, EPISODE III a HANDJOB!

In an attempt to assure geeks who identify with "filmmaker" Kevin Smith that Episode III is totally gonna rock, Lucas invited the clam-digger wearing, friend of Jay Leno's to screen a digital "print" of Episode III. Smith has posted his "review" on his viewaskew site. (Clam)dig it.
