IGN has posted some speculation about the next "Batman" film's latest villain rumors, which were semi-cryptically revealed by Moviehole last week. The site cautions readers to "take it with a grain of salt," yet Stax at IGN offers some interesting theories about what the scooper said.I don't know why an anonymous scooper has to be coy, but when Stax deconstructs the hints, what he concludes is pretty convincing.
For the role of The Joker, the big-name actor that Warners and director Christopher Nolan are said to be eyeing "has a major film coming out this summer and it's a sequel to one of his biggest hits. In fact, his performance in the first movie was nominated for an Oscar."
That actor, of course, is Johnny Depp, an oft-mentioned fan fave to play The Joker.
Could Johnny Depp be playing the Joker in the upcoming "Batman" film? Sounds good to me, but only time will tell.
