In "The Ringer" Johnny Knoxville plays Steve Barker, a luckless corporate yes-man who can't get a break. In order to pay off a debt, Barker decides to rig the Special Olympics by pretending to be, uh, a Special Olympian. I dare you not to laugh guiltily. It should surprise anyone that the movie is produced by the Farrelly brothers. The movie co-stars Brian Cox and Katherine Heigl. It is directed by Barry W. Blaustein, who wrote "Coming to America" and "The Nutty Professor" (the 1996 version).
The film is due out this Christmas, though it was originally slated for a November 2004 release. I would find out why, but I doubt it's a very interesting reason. Instead of worrying about that, just watch the trailer, will you!
