In addition to prompting a bunch of people to go buy an Xbox, the first Halo also made a tremendous amount of money ($125 million on its day of release) making a big screen adaptation inevitable. Now, Universal, Fox and Microsoft are working out a deal to put screenwriter Alex Garland's (The Beach, 28 Days Later) script on film sometime this year. The deal will reportedly have Microsoft retaining rights to the script throughout filming (no changes unless they so ok).That's right, Halo is coming to the big screen! Expect it some time in 2007.
