Cool Horror Flick, NIGHT WATCH Trailer Online!
By Wind(up)bird on April 8, 2005 5:28 AM
Watch this trailer. This is a Russian made version of Underworld, with strong hints on 28 Days later and the Matrix. Dig the inventive use of CGI and a sequence strinkingly similar to one that appears in the Fantastic Four trailer (looking better here if you ask us). Night Watch will be released domestically by Fox Searchlight in July. Night Watch is a trilogy and was written by Sergei Lukyanenko and based on his trilogy of novels. The film was directed Timor Bekmambetov.
Here's the Official Site for Night Watch.

I think this movie looks stupid, it takes itself WAY too seriously and I was turned off even more by the woman turning into a tiger for no apparent reason. If I hear goo reviews I might rent it from Netflix but I am in no way seeing it in theatres.

This is one of the greatest movies I`ve ever seen! It might lose it original sense because of translation but there is a great deep idea lays behind "lady turning into a tiger for no reason" and all other modern cinema effects! It is a movie about "see through" bareer between darkness and light, about human realtionship and about existance of a payback for everything you do in your life.

Is that a joke? Sorry this movie isn't starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson in a new pseudo-funny stab at a comedy. This looks like a badass movie, I'm going to be camping out in front of the ticket office the night before when this puppy comes out.

I'm sorry to break it to you all impressed by the trailer, but I watched the original version of the movie about a year ago, and... eh, it sucked.
"Ghostbusters" meets "The Matrix" with pretty low-quality CGI. I don't know if there's an English translation of the original novel by Lukyanenko, but the story is really, really good.
The trailer is pretty damn cool, though, I gotta admit...
