Samuel L. Jackson's, Coach Carter flick about a tough basketball coach easily won its debut weekend.  Coach earned $23.6m while the other large film opening, Elektra, made only $12.5m.

Topher Grace's new flick (co-starring Scarlett Johansson) did well during its first week of expanding to more screens.
