TEAM AMERICA Trailer!!!
By Charley on July 31, 2004 3:56 PM
From Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of "South Park," comes "Team America," a comedy made entirely with marionettes that tells the story of Team America, an international police force whose job is to patrol the world, bringing justice to the unjust and peace to the unpeaceful. Team America must thwart a dictator who is selling weapons of mass destruction to terrorist groups. In order to infiltrate the weapons smuggling ring, Team America hires a Broadway star to act his way into the lion's den.
Parker and Stone write, direct, and star (as voices) in the film, which is due out this October. Trailer courtesy Paramount Pictures.

Yeah, sounds like something a Michael Moore supporter would say. If Bush "lies" then he ought to be killed on the spot, even if it can't be proven, and without due process. But Moore, Kerry, Dean, Kennedy, and Kucinich can all blatantly lie and no one calls them on it. No wonder you all cling to the 1st Amendment, it's the only way your guys get elected.

"It's not about this year or last year; it's about the main characters going through a journey of what it's like to be an American, to be the only country that has to deal with stuff, but then gets bitched at for dealing with it... People really see it as if we are trying to affect the election. We're so not. We should make a little PSA [public service announcement]: 'Please, if you're the kind of person who's going to change your vote based on seeing our movie or seeing Michael Moore's movie, you should not be voting. Please don't vote. Thank you very much.'" - Matt Stone
...hmm, maybe they're just trying to make people laugh by exploiting the absurd regardless of what side of the political aisle it comes from...LIKE THEY ALWAYS DO.

This movie looks hot to me, but who is the idiot that compared the Bushies to Nazis because they didn't like the movie? That's insane. They are merely expressing their opinion to! Please, I'd like to identify with the progressive movement but when they weep and cry "Nazi!" or "Fascist" everytime a republican disagrees with their banter, it's truly embarrassing.

When you're out there campaigning and talking to people, remind them what we have been through as a country. We've been through a recession -- that means we're going backwards.

Yeah, I guess it is difficult to look into what a sentence is trying to communicate, huh? A recession means that the economy IS shrinking, you dumbass! A recession inherited from Clinton, by the way. Good thing his tax cuts stopped that in October of 2002 and now we have a growing economy.

Yes, I know. He's explaining what going through a recession means.....going backwards. I'm sure the next line of the quote probably went something like "But due to my tax cuts, our economy is now growing at the fastest rate in 20 years."

who cares whose father was president? John Quincy Adams' father was president, and I've never heard any of these people chastising Bush mention that Quincy Adams' presidency should be called into question simply because he was the son of John Adams. Reminds me of ppl who repeat the "anybody but Bush" mantra because they heard it somewhere, but can't cite a reason why they feel that way. I don't care who votes for whom, just as long as people do their homework and know why they're voting, rather than spouting out what millions of dollars worth of advertising tells them to.

To do well in politics, you must have contacts. Your retarded monkey of a president wouldn't have got anywhere if it wasn't for his Father and his cronies. Alas this is how democracy works, unfortunately the yanks haven't woken up to the fact that your regime restricts your freedoms almost as much as the taliban did in Afghanistan. If Bush was a black man from Texas, it wouldn't have got very far. But you all live in a great American democracy, which is the same as all those who preceded it, the reich get richer. And this is from a Brit.
|
 |
|
Posted by A random shemp (No Email) on September 16, 2004 11:03 PM
Sounds like someone has democracy jealousy. But, I guess I would too if I was ruled by someone else. Even if John Kerry is elected president, which, as of right now, looks like he won't be, according to the polls, I will only have to live with him being president for a maximum of 8 years. You have to be governed by the same family for your entire life. So don't come talking to me about our government being like the Taliban. Why don't you just worry about English politics, and those of us in the greatest nation on the face of the earth will worry about our own.

Well, you've just proved how little Americans know about anything outside their own country. The Royal Family has had little to do in the actual running of this country since the turn of the last century or so. Britain is actaully run by the party in office led by the Prime Minister. He's the one who makes all the important decisions on how the country is run and we the people get to vote on important issues. As for the Queen, nowadays she's little more than a tourist attraction. In America it seems anytime someone bad mouths the president everyone labels them a Michael Moore loving Canadian. In Britian we are free to question the actions of the people who run this country without fear of rednecks telling us to "fuck off back to Iraq". If you ask me we live in far more of a democracy than any of you.

Good thing no one is asking you. At least the British know how to elect people with intelligence...Tony Blair. But let me guess, you don't support him either. Maybe when 3000 people in London are murdered you will get it.
|
 |
|
Posted by A random shemp (No Email) on September 18, 2004 8:31 AM
I don't believe in following Tony Blair blindly just because he's the guy in charge the same way you do in America with George Bush. There are things he stands for which I disagree with but I wouldn't say I don't support him at all. Also, don't bring up terrorism by saying we'll only understand when we have a 9/11 happen to us, Britain has been suffering terrorist attacks for years at the hands of the IRA- a terrorist organisation which has received lots of funding from people in America by the way.
|
 |
|
Posted by A random shemp (No Email) on September 20, 2004 8:41 PM
I would agree with you, there are a bunch of psychos in America. They're called Kerry-supporters. If Bush had his way there wouldn't be any terrorist organizations killing people. I also don't think anyone agrees with everything Bush does. It is just that most people agree with a majority of the things he has done. No one in this country follows anyone blindly. As you can see by the U.S. not following the passifist organization known as the U.N.

God bless America on our path to legalize abortions. You see God, we’re guessing that the babies we’re aborting are just not quite human at the time we kill them, and it’s a chance we’re willing to KILL for. God bless America, as we legalize gay marriage even though the Word, which is God, tells us that it’s an abomination. God bless America, when we allow homosexuals to adopt your young children and raise them in a house of ungodly confusion. God bless America, when we pass out contraceptives in school instead of telling our children that fornication is wrong and teaching that it is wrong at home and in school. God bless America, even though we want to take mention of you out of the “pledge of allegiance.” God bless America, even though we are turning our backs on you. And this from a patriotic American.

'scuse me, but one person writes a post and you come back with, "Well, you've just proved how little Americans know about anything outside their own country." Boy, that's quite a generalization, if you ask me. Oh, but we're the arrogant ones, right? You're the one making fun of American "red necks," so if anyone is radiating ignorance, it's you. That's right, our "red necks" can say anything they damn well please. They're not censored, and neither are the Hollywood actors who criticize the actions of this Administration. For every Rush Limbaugh, you have a Michael Moore. Those on the left call Limbaugh a flag-waving windbag; those on the right call Moore an anti-American. Point is, everyone has a voice. You see, that's what Democracy is all about. Am I saying America's system is perfect? Of course not. But to say that people don't have a voice, just because others with voices tend to disagree with them, shows just how little YOU know about what's going on outside your country. Thankfully, I won't generalize by labeling your entire country with your ignorance.

Thankfully, I won't generalize by labeling your entire country with your ignorance.

yeah, Yale, where he got a 'C' average and drank and sniffed his days away. Then became CEO of 3 companies that failed under his rule. (proven fact, every company under Bush failed, kinda like the economy now.) and yeah, became President in one of the most contested elections in history, without even winning the popular vote. Nice argument as to why Bush is cool.

If you have watched anything they have every made, especially South Park, you will see that this movie will rip on both sides of this issue. This movie won't be pro-Bush, put it also will completely make fun of the far left like Moore and Streisand.
Treys a Libertarian anyways...

I thought this site was for discussing movies...not politics. Anyway, Trey and Matt are hilarious. They are just very funny, very sharp comedic writers. They are not afraid to blast anyone or anything they see as being stupid or ridiculous or hypocritical. They are what democracy is all about...being able to speak your mind about whatever you want. The discussion in here was very interesting until it got into the grade three potty-type jokes. oh well, everyone has the right to say whatever they want, even if it doesn't seem very productive.

that you're the only ones who live in a democratic and free country? it seems so 'cause that's the only thing you ever talk about: 'america is so cool because everyone has a voice' and other things like that. hey if you have a voice than use it for something better than always telling the world how good you are. i don't hate america. i don't think every american is an arrogant idiot. but i think democracy isn't a thing to be proud until it really works. and that's the reason why you should be able to critisize your own country and not follow your leaders blindly. i seems as if most americans can't to that because they are so DAMN PROUD OF BEING AMERICANS! hey, and don't cry because "the world hates america". that's not true. the world hates the american administration. think about that.

"We Americans have no commission from God to police the world."
Since World War II noone asked America to save the world or make it a better place. And you can't make people be thankful for eternity. The world certainly would be a better place if your president sticked American weapons up his ass and shut his goddamn mouth. Everyone just wants to live in peace. Iraq had nothing to do with September 11th but American soldiers killed Iraqi civilians. Yeah, the world should love the USA for killing people wo who already suffer from dictators. And Iraqi people should love America for bombing their country. Do Americans ever think of anything else but themselves?

I just saw the movie, and I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed it because of the things they said (as in "Maybe feelings are feelings because we can't control them."), the fact that it's puppets, the songs they sang, and the way they moved... not because it made fun of something. I think the post above are outrageous. It's just peole picking on other people because they believe different things... which is basically what the whole movie is about.
If you want to see a movie that is outrageously funny because it's blatantly stupid and mocking everything... then see this.
