The Dawn of the Dead remake, pumped up by MTV ads and decent reviews, won the box office weekend with a $30 million take. Jesus' death continued to be a popular spectacle, raking in $20m.

The critically raved, touted 1st great film of '04, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, earned $8m. Taking Lives did fair business while Starsky and Secret Window had their expected drop-offs.
