Which is why I loved the third one so much. Such satisfaction from seeing peace- if temporary- from the two races. Ever since I watched the Animatrix (an excellent dvd to get, by the way) I've sided mostly with the machines, but neither one was truly innocent or guilty. The humans put down, enslaved, disrespected the robots, even trying to exterminate them from the earth (cool egyptian slave oppression/african american oppression themes here) and so the robots fought back, and with their superior intelligence, logic and durability laid waste and enslaved their former opressors. In a highly bloody and efficient manner, I might add. Both races were fighting for what they believed in, and in doing so destroyed each other (interesting note- look back in your history books: in every single case of violence in history, it has been caused by beliefs. Every single non-natural disaster like terrorism, war, and oppression has been caused by beliefs. Lends a good reason to being an athiest pacifist)
In any case, I'm extremely shocked and hurt that Revolutions got as bad or worse a score than reloaded on many review sites. While its script might have left something to be desired, its ideas and its portrayal of them is as fascinating and gripping as ever. Not to mention that they all look so stylish in their black leather. Heh, I like the part where trin flips over the subway turnstile; cool stuff. Wow I ramble a lot.
