Why did Adain call his mother "Rachael"? Because she was his child. She did not nurse him; he nursed her. As a courtesy, he might as well consider her a peer. Adain was a good boy, but he knew things, just like me.

Why did I have to kill? What point? Oh, but what point not to? After all, I was taught to at a very early age, wasn't I? Mother (Anna-- I do my respect her)killed my body by throwing it into the well. Worse, she and my "father" tried to kill my images. Have you ever been gagged? Told your words and thoughts did not matter? Told to say nothing about the things that matter most to you? Put me in a barn (thetreetheburningtree), Put me off-island into an institution, and when the pictures persisted, they took me back and tried to murder the whole of their only living daughter (theonetheydidnotkillatconceptionconceptionisdeath).

What else do I know of the world but death to those that love and create?

They came to the Ring, to sleep and recreate. They came to the cabin, to the Ring, not knowing.
