Listen up. I'm not one of the average "groupies" on this website, and this is my only post, but I think I should grace people with a little bit of information. The actual book was written by Roald Dahl. Lesson 1 is, Roald Dahl was not your average happy go lucky childrent's writer. He was a really messed up guy. None of his writing projects daisys and tulips popping up out of the ground with the sun smiling and children laughing. Dahl mixes harsh reality. Maybe Wonka doesn't represent Satan. But he sure as hell isn't a kind, good hearted old man looking for someone to take over his chocolate factory. The origional movie should not even be a comparison for wonka, because it was written by someone else, and is rarely like the book. The movie was aimed stricly for children, and aimed to please and make kiddies wet themselves with rapture. I haven't read a Dahl story that has made me do that yet. In the book. There are several likenesses between wonka and satan. First off, look at the picture's of wonka. He's a short little guy with a goatee, and small, beady eyes. I half expected to see horns when he took his hat off the first time I read it. As for his personality, (this is getting way too long, so I'm through knocking with details, read the book) he's not kind. If he's not satan, or an associate, he's at least crazy.
