Kevin Smith's CLERKS 2 Teaser Online!
By Wind(up)bird on January 10, 2006 5:17 AM
Kevin Smith can be funny. Sometimes. When he's not in a film of his or not reading lines he's written. Wait, no he's not funny. Not at all, really. And his filmmaking skills? Not so much (see also Jersey Girl and Mallrats). Dig his new joint, a sequel to his first (see also, desperate move) flick, Clerks. This time, it's in color and it's longer, probably.Related, Unrealted New Links

Ain't they a little old to be working in a video store? Isn't Dante in his 40's or something?

Any guy who joins in on the protests outside of a theater showing his movie gets my vote as hysterical. Smith did this during a viewing of Dogma.
Besides which Clerks, Dogma, Mallrats, JaSBSB are really funny movies. Stupid, but funny. I'm of the mind that a comedy should be funny. Not some fucked up moral story with a few good punch lines (see anything with illy Crystal)
Christ even Peter Sellers made some crap but he is still considered pretty funny.

It is so easy to downgrade Kevin Smith, His style of filmmaking may be a little out of date but fact of the matter is he is one hell of a writer and one hell of a filmmaker too, yeah i said it. Jersey Girl, why was no one into this film!!! it was wonderfully written, wonderfully cast, and bueatifully shot. what more can you ask for. and what most people fale to see is that Jersey Girl was a love story not about Affleck and Tyler, but of the love between Affleck and his daughter Castro (gutie) Watching any smith movie reminds me how to giggle at a fart joke every once in a while. I do not want to sound like a superfan backing up one of his fav. directors but jesus guys give smith his dues the man is a talented filmmaker.
