More about juvenile arrest records.
A juvenile arrest record is a criminal record. Luckily expunging juvenile arrest records is much easier than clearing any other types of criminal records.
Juvenile records are criminal records of people under the legal age who have committed a law offence. Juvenile arrest records are created every time such person is arrested, regardless of the severity of the crime. A juvenile can get a record for something as simple as writing on the wall of a residential building. While juvenile arrest records are not freely available to everybody, there are still many institutions that have access to those records.
How to expunge a juvenile arrest record?
Although laws governing the process of expungment of juvenile arrest records differ in each US state, the process is quite similar. The first thing a person with a juvenile arrest record should know is that their record will not be automatically cleaned after they have reached legal age (an age of 18 or 21, depending on the state). They must initiate this by visiting the local probation center and asking for their records to be cleaned.
Juvenile arrest records can be cleaned without the help of an attorney as long as you know the information required to complete the expunge forms. You will be asked for the case number, the date of the conviction, the code of the violation you have convicted in doing, information about the sentence and in case you were sentenced to a correction facility - the name of the institution, the date of admission and release.
