I think that comment just sums up the general stupidity that some of you folk seam to be holding on to.

Having just read the entire conversation, I think it's fair to say;
Stop taking this whole thing quite so seriously.
Those of you who want to see the film, you'll see it and I hope you enjoy it, those devotees of the first film, don't see it and reminisce over the first film.
The original was a fantastic book, the film of this book was (as a piece of  filmography) very good, Burton's new film, will (I hope) be equally as good, but I will not be comparing the two. There is no point. At all. Like many of you have said. The "original" film was quite far away from the book, but I think you'll agree that it was still a good film. Those of you who are so (strangely) aggravated by the thought of the remake...why such hostility? Do you feel the same about the Lord of the rings/ shall you feel the same about the up-and-coming "Phantom of the opera" This film (Phantom) is said to be a "re-make" of the musical and not the book, as such, are we to protest?
NO! - We’ll embrace what we're being offered.
Do we not?
- As far as im aware, none of you, or myself, are Johnny Depp, Burton, or indeed in quite the same business as them, so how can we give them such agro? They are both very good in their chosen fields,
as was Dahl,
and wilder.
Lets remain broad-minded guys?
It’s a big world.

Thanks for listening.
