SHOUT! The Mod Musical at Arizona Broadway Theatre

With its irresistible mix of hip-swiveling hits, eye-popping fashions, and outrageous dance strikes, SHOUT! The Mod Musical takes audiences again to the music, model, and freedom of the Nineteen Sixties. Created by Phillip George and David Lowenstein, SHOUT! options terrific new preparations of such traditional tunes as To Sir with Love, Downtown, Son of a Preacher Man, and Goldfinger.

The evaluation follows 5 groovy gals as they arrive of age throughout these wonderful days that made England swing. Touring in time from 1960 to 1970, SHOUT! chronicles the dawning liberation of girls, from the rise of Dusty Springfield, Petula Clark, and Cilla Black as impartial ladies with main careers, to their American counterparts, redefining themselves within the face of fixing attitudes about gender. With a shimmy and shake, the songs are tied collectively by hilarious sound bites from the interval - from ’60s ads to letters answered by an recommendation columnist who thinks that each downside will be solved with a “fetching new coiffure and a brand new shade of lipstick.”
