NY Times Review: Kurt Cobain Inspired LAST DAYS!

Manhola Dargis of the New York Times write, "Putting a gun to your head seems a poignantly symbolic act of violence for a star as uncomfortable with celebrity as Cobain claimed to be. This gruesome detail isn't in "Last Days," the 11th feature directed by Mr. Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Drugstore Cowboy) and one of this year's indisputably great films. The filmmaker freely borrows from Cobain's sad story, but "Last Days" is neither a straight biography nor one of those forensic narratives so beloved by television producers." Enough said.

50 Cent's GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN' Teaser Trailer

Remember that shitty Annie ripoff musical TV series, Rags to Riches? It starred a bunch of orphans adopted by a rich honkie and took place during the 1950's (the girls always ended up singing at least once during each episode). These new, dealer-to-pissy-MTV-gangster movies, they remind us of Rags to Riches. They suck.

Star Trek's SCOTTY Gets Beamed Up, DEAD At 85!

James Doohan, Star Trek's Montgomery Scott, passed away last night from complications related to pneumonia and Alzheimer's disease. He was 85. When asked if the bean-me-up thing ever got to him he once answered, "I'm not tired of it at all," he replied. "Good gracious, it's been said to me for just about 31 years. It's been said to me at 70 miles an hour across four lanes on the freeway. I hear it from just about everybody. It's been fun." He then added, "but if I died tomorrow and no one ever said that god-awful phrase again I'd be fine with that too, laddy." (He actually didn't say that last part).
