M. Night Shyamalan's LADY IN THE WATER Teaser!
By Wind(up)bird on November 22, 2005 4:54 AM
Love'em or hate'em, he's a good director who may or may not f-up he films with all their nutso trick, twist endings. M. Night Shyamalan (dir. Six Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, The Village) has a new one coming out this summer. The Lady in The Water opens next July. This trailer would be a hell of a lot better with different music. Watch it now.

I agree. The music is really good. It would be a lot better if it scrapped the singing and stuck with the cello solo.

Actually, that is a violin and not a cello, and the singer is Josh Groban. The song is called Mi Mancheri and it is on his sophomore CD Closer.

Anyone know where I can find the violin part to "Mi Mancherai?" The "Closer" book only has piano.

I believe that the violinist in the song is Joshua Bell, a genius on the violin.

i disagree. i think the trailer is great. bizarre and confusing just like the famed director! need i remind everyone of the trailer for "The Village"! how many people went to see it based on the trailer alone, thinking that it was some creepy horror film....

EVERYONE GO BUY BOTH OF JOSH GROBAN's CDS!! They are excellent, every single song. And besides that, he has the most divine voice on this planet. (And adorable curly brown hair, but that's beside the point, I suppose...)

I think the lady is a blind girl who can't die and sees dead people in her cornfields all the time and it turns out she's a ghost. Months go by before people realize M. Night Shyamalan's run out of ideas.

The last few moments from the music in the trailer are NOT from the Groban song. Does anyone know what score or work those few haunting piano notes are from?

The music for Shyamalan films is usually done by James Newton Howard, so I'd guess it's him who did the music you're talking about. He's a genius, by the way.

If you took the time to read the posts, you'd find out that nearly a million people stated who sings that song.
Oh, and the lady is not a mermaid, she's a character from a bedtime story who is trying to get back into her own world, and 'things' are preventing her from doing so. The twist for this movie will likely be that what WE think is the bedtime story, turns out to be the real deal, and that we thought was normal is really the bedtime story.

screw the music, the trailor is dull, uninforming crap. Of course he caps it off with a stupid tag line like "they're here" from Signs or "they're coming" from the village, here he says "how many of you are there?" Horrible trailor!

Apartment building superintendent Cleveland Heep (Giamatti) rescues what he thinks is a young woman from the pool he maintains. When he discovers that she is actually a character from a bedtime story who is trying to make the journey back to her home, he works with his tenants to protect his new friend from the creatures that are determined to keep her in our world.

"remember when it rains" is indeed a very nice song,
"broken vow" is also very beautiful, and "you raise me up" and "to where you are" too...
but this is not his fansite is it?
