Paramount pictures has officially announced that J.J. Abrams (TV's "Alias," "Felicity") will be the man behind the camera on the third "Mission: Impossible" film, according to
Coming Soon.
Abrams
was rumored to be the new director after Joe Carnahan ("Narc") left the position last month. Paramount made the official announcement that the rumor was true, even though most trades and Web sites had come to that conclusion weeks ago.
"Mission: Impossible 3" is starting to look like a director's black hole. This will be the film's third director--before Carnahan, David Fincher ("Fight Club," "Panic Room") was set to helm.
