PS3 Error 80029945: Unplayable Blue Ray Disc on the PS3

You got some videos on a blue ray disc and decided to watch it on your ps3, but after inserting it, ps3 error 80029945 message appears on your screen instead of the menu. What's with this error?


You figured there might be something wrong with your disc player, so you tried the disc on a friend's ps3. Still got nothing but the same error, could your disc be defective or something? It's looks clean, without scratches, in fact you've just burn it a day before.


The funny thing here is that the BD-RE disc was created using Sony video editing software, and burned using a Sony blue ray burner. To think that all of these devices were all items of Sony makes you discount the possibility that there could have been incompatibiltiy issues somewhere...


PS3 Error 80029945? Truth be told, there is indeed an incompatibility problem that's causing ps3 80029945 problems. One thing you can do is to upgrade the firmware of your drive. The next thing to do is to download and install a patch for the Sony editing software that you are using. All of this are intended to provide more playback compatibility with consumer blue ray devices. Once these things have been accomplish, you can then re-burn on a new BD-RE disc. It will now be playable and viewable on the ps3.
