For some reason, Hollywood, or the people in the mainstream press that analyze Hollywood, enjoy pretending to forget that people enjoy seeing R-Rated comedies. Steve Carell (the new Will Ferrell) and his comedy 40 Year Old Virgin topped the box office for the second straight week and suddenly Hollywood is all talk about the "surprise hits" of the summer and how nuts it is that they were rated R.
