Subject: RE: The death of Christ - Mel Gibson
From: (No Email available)

Jesus was indeed but one man. However, His Blood makes atonement for our sins only because in and of Himself He is God, just as God the Father and God the Holy Spirit are God in and of themselves, and yet, they are all One in nature and are the One God.
Jesus' Death matters so much since He is God the Son, and in His Crucifixion makes atonement for our sins, this atonement is brought to the present at the Sacrement of Confesssion, and His Blood and Body is made present at the Altar in the hands of a Priest.
Jesus was a man. Jesus was God. Somehow-- get this-- Jesus was 100% man, and 100% God. Jesus was a person, with all the frailties, limitations and weaknesses we all have experienced--save original sin, and sin committed-- who was also God.
Phillipians 2:5-11
"Have among yourselves the same attitude that is also yours in Christ Jesus,
Who though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped.
Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance,
 he humbled himself,
 becoming obedient to death,
 even death on a cross.
Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend,
of those in heaven, on earth, and under the earth,
end every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

The freedom is yours right now-- to bend your knee, or confess with your tongue, but oh-- if you should but bend the slightest, or just whisper His name in awe! If I were you, I would beg me to tell you of His awesomenity, His sublime humility, His humble sublimity!
Peter says that we are indeed filled with an "inexpressible and glorius joy" when we truly Love this Lord offered to us by God our Father.
I beg of you, Love Jesus, Love Him, all of you, with all your hearts, so that you may experience true Joy, true Fulfilment, true Love in Christ!
Why would you not want to have the Lord as your own? He only wants you to love Him-- His love of you is so desperate, so huge! To partake in this Person of Christ is the fulfillment of every Human Person ever created! To strive after, and attain perfection in His love is the greatest of all goals-- and whats greater, is that the Holy Spirit-- The immense Love that proceeds from God the Father and God the Son, should come down, and enter into your self, and fill your entire being! Only open the door, He does not ransak your household, but He gentle slides in, and with Him comes joy inexpressible, love beyond that of any other.

St Augustine said that "All the way to Heaven is Heaven because Christ said ' I am the Way.'"

Partake in Heaven!
Partake in Christ!
