Bruce Campbell replacing Duchovny in the X-Files?

We all feared it but it was bound to happen some day, David Duchovny will be leaving the X-Files! The New York Daily Times says he will appear in the first two episodes of the season but won't return again until episode 13.?
Fox has apparently begun their quest for "Mr.?X" to Partner up with Gillian Anderson.?According to a New York Daily Times source; four among a roster of candidates include: Bruce Campbell, Lou Diamond Phillips, Robert Patrick and Hart Bochner.?
Special Agent Fox Mulder, will be seen in the first two episodes of the new season and then leave.?That will set up a storyline in which Anderson, as agent Dana Scully, will be paired with the newcomer to search for Mulder.?Mulder was abducted by aliens in the season finale.?
Under the new deal, worth a reported $20 million, Duchovny gets around $400,000 per episode with the balance going to settle the legal issues.?
It's possible that if the series survives replacing Duchovny, the producers could use the same method to replace Anderson, who also has repeatedly said she doesn't want to continue on the show.?She is contractually bound to appear on the upcoming season.

Nothing against Bruce Campbell, but I don't think there's a bats chance outta hell that they'll pull that one off. 

Look for the series to sink faster than a 50 lb. rock in water.

Not really think when you about it... Have you ever seen the show Jack of all trades? It's really a bad show the only reason it's still on the air is because it's starring Bruce Campbell.. (and it's full of perversion and sexual references and the chicks all have serious cleavage *cough*) there are so many people that are incredible fans of Bruce left over from The Evil Dead(s) and Army of Darkness that he has a career for life!

I believe that Duchovny and Campbell are about the same when it comes to talent, and they are both pretty goofy; I don't see why it wouldn't work. I do know that out of the list of 4, he would be the best choice. 
I hope they pick Campbell for my sake, cause if they don't my husband will be on the rampage for MONTHS!

Lou Diamond Phillips? Please. He won't do. Robert Patrick? Ack, I really hope not, what a bummer he would be. And Hart Bochner who? Bruce has the talent. Finally surrounded by a quality cast and series he will shine brightly. Just don't know if the series has many nine lives left in it though. It will be a battle just to survive a season after this one I would guess.

Bruce Campbell would bring THE X-FILES to exactly where it needs to be. The show has all but lost its sense of humor, which made it so engaging early on in the series. Campbell's dry wit would be perfect, and for those of you who don't think he has the dramatic acting chops for it, check out the two-parter he did on HOMICIDE:Life on the Streets. Besides, Bruce could kick David Duchovny's whiny ass any day.

I would say that X-Files is David and Gillian... The Show would not survive with Bruce Campbell... No, they should make a new show with Bruce Campbell. Remember that Bruce was a guest starring in a episode??? Just one reason why He cant take over the serie... And dont get mad now. I am a HUGE fan of Bruce Campbell... May he make many more movies....

Bruce Campbell Is My Lord and master i am his acolyte he can do no wrong ....{{cough}}.... we'll almost no wrong herc, xena, jact of all trades well umm they dont count jack is at least semi amusing to watch. But his true acting talent cam to pas when he did such roles as Brisco County Jr. the Dr. in escape from LA. and of course the part to end all parts for this comedic genious of brash manlyness Ash do i need to ramble on anymore i think not.

I don't think he could be on X-Files... Whether he would want to or not, he's probably under some sort of contract for Jack of All Trades.

I think Bruce would be the perfect replacement for David. Who knows, maybe it could attract newcomers to The X-Files?

Had this article had any other name I would have said "just shoot the dead horse (The X Files) now!" But, gasp, Bruce! I've loved Bruce since Brisco, I didn't see the Evil Dead trilogy until later and I now own it, I even love Autolycus. I love every role he has ever done (yes, even Jack) and I think he can do nothing but good for the show.
