(ZDNet)"Riding The Bullet," the horror novella released exclusively digital two weeks ago, has been pirated.?Apparently the PDF document had elementary encryption that some hackers broke quickly.?The pirated story was put on many sites(most of which have been forced to remove them).?The book only costs $2.50 from distributors.?According to Len Kawell, the president of Glassbook Inc., "The reality is there's no such thing as an invincible copy protection system.?It's impractical to make it both invincible and usable." As much as I'm for free stuff and better security, an act like this is going to hamper the growth of the e-book market.?I for one, think the electronic book is a great idea, but it's not going to take off until some higher profile authors start writing for them.?Something like this doesn't help one bit.?Read more.
