Fox News has a review on the new Internet Viewcam from Sharp. This digital recorder is apparently the first to have MPEG-4 video compression. Instead of the typical 3.5" floppy that usually stores the images and small movies that cameras record, the Viewcam uses a 3.5" SmartMedia card that holds a good amount of movies and stills(I'm assuming "good amount" is at least a couple of megs). The camera has a 4x zoom and lens that rotates 270 degrees. What I don't like about it is that it only has a 1 hour battery life on 4 AA batteries. I guess I really can't complain though. I would be using it mostly for stills, and that would last a while. Price tag on this thing is about 700 bucks. Read the whole review here. |
