Dreamcast Sales Take A Hit

Sega's Dreamcast hasn't been doing too well in recent days.?Today it "warned of steep business losses this buisness year." It's not been doing so hot in Japan, and with the Playstation 2 coming out in, oh, 2 or so weeks, it's about to do a lot worse.?Come

Fall when the Playstation 2 is released in the US, the Dreamcast may very well be a nonfactor in the gaming community. This can mean three things up until then.?Either 1, they'll knock the price of the dreamcast down 50-100 bucks, 2, they'll get on the ball and start shipping new games faster(which might not be a good thing), or 3, all the game developers will jump ship, and those that bought the Dreamcast will be left out in the cold.?I'm glad I waited, and depending on what happens in the coming months, I might not buy a Dreamcast.

Sega is known to drop support on products in the past so I would not be suprised if it's Sega that jumps ship rather then the developers.. even still if it prevails and lives on eternaly I would continue to fantasize about the Playstation 2 for the sole reason that it plays the old playstation games as well as DVD Movies so even if support is dropped it will not become completely useless and obsolete.
