Irish Michy Ward, who hails from Massachusetts, was a puglist determined to carve a name for himself in the world of boxing. Under the guidance of half-brother Dicky, who himself was a former boxer turned trainer, Micky seems to be heading the right direction. However, a series of defeats left him dishearted, and Dicky has gone into prison because of drugs and crimes. Later on he finds a chance at redemption when a promoter decided to bank on him to make a come back fight.

That was all that he needed as fight after fight he makes a remarkable comeback, eventually winning both the WBU Intercontinental Lightweight title and WBU Light Welterweight titles.
