Dave Stutler is just your ordinary, average kid on the block, but not until the day a master sorcerer Balthazar Blake came to recruit him. Balthazar has an enormous task of protecting Manhattan from the evil sorcerer Maxim Horvath. For Dave to becomes a full fledge sorcerer's apprentice, he must be trained in the art and science of magic. Balthazar was more than willing to provide him with a crash course, as he sees a hidden potential within the kid.

Together, they swore to protect the city at all cost against Maxim, who intends to bring chaos and to put to waste anyone who gets into the way.
