Custody records are public records about child custody court cases. Child custody records may be required for many reasons - for example when someone is applying for financial aid at a school or a college. Looking for custody records can also be very helpful if you want to find more about your family or parents.
The information contained by custody records may differ from state to state because of the different state laws governing the way public records are managed. However each child custody record should contain information about the parties involved in the custody case (from who and to who custody was transferred), when it took place and the name of the child.
