Set in the early 1950s, Lou Ford is the deputy sheriff in a small town in West Texas. It all started with a series of murders, and what makes it puzzling is that in most of the murder cases, there was not a motive to be established. For Lou, it was difficult juggling his way through work, his girl friend, and a prostitute to whom he mistakenly falls in love with. Things began to grow more confusing as the evidence found in the crime scenes all seem to point to Lou as the suspect.
