US gov military records can be requested by completing, dating and signing a standard form 180 or DD form 214 (report of separation). Copies of the records are usually provided about 20 days after the request however in some cases t can take up to several months. People often search for military records when they apply for benefits or when they want to find out more about their family history.
How to request government military records gov?
Here is what you need to do if you need to get government military records gov. As mentioned above, you will need to complete a standard form 180 (SF-180) or a DD form 214. You will need to provide the name of the veteran (as used during their service), the service number of the veteran, date of enlistment and date of separation, branch of service and the reasons why you are requesting a copy of the records.
Keep in mind that in some cases you will not receive full copies of the records requested. Since the National Archive receives millions of records request, in many cases they send out only bits of the records relevant to the search purposes rather than full files.
