What information can be obtained by a prisoner record.
Prisoners records are public records of people who have been sentenced to prison. Prisoner records can be obtained by correction facilities and court houses. People are usually interested in viewing these records when they want to check someone's criminal past or as part of genealogy or history search. The most common reason however for checking if a person has a prisoner record is to evaluate their trustworthiness.
A prisoner record usually contains the name of the person, their last known address, date and type of the crime, court’s sentence and the prison where the person was sent to.
How to obtain federal prisoner records.
One of the biggest challenges in obtaining any type of prisoner records, including federal prisoner records is that you may be unaware which court issued the sentence and to which prison the person was sent to. Even in cases when this information is available and you know where to start your search, you still may miss a lot of data especially if the person has been transferred from one correction facility to another of if they were sentenced to prison more than once in different states.
The easiest way to overcome this problem is by checking for state and federal prisoners records online. Most websites pull data from all government public record databases and you can check all at the same time. In addition searching for records via the Internet is much faster than any other search.
