Air force records management.
Air force records are managed by The National Military Personnel Center and by The National Archives. An air force record can be accessed by its owner, next of a kin of the owner or anyone else interested in viewing the record. Some records however can only be accessed by members of the general public after the owner or next of a kin of the owner have given their consent.
Air force service records can be requested by filling in a standard form 180 at The National Military Personnel Center or filling in DD form 214 at the National Archives. You will need to know the name of the person, their service number, date of enlistment, place of enlistment, date and place of separation, service and more details about the military service.
Access to an online air force records management system.
A standard search for air force records may take a lot of time especially if you weren’t able to provide sufficient details in the request form. A faster way to obtain the records you need is through an online air force records management system at a public records database site. These websites can find the records you need even if you provide just the name of the person and the search takes only a few seconds. Moreover you can search from the comfort of your home.
